Physics of Lacrosse
For this project we were tasked to design and film a video describing what physics and motions are involved in certain movements in sports we were able to choose. Our group decided to choose, passing a ball in lacrosse.
In this video we describe the motions of passing, and certain properties
of physics used in each motion.
Concepts:
-Velocity:
Velocity is speed in a given direction. When calculating the velocity we had Cole throw down a football field and timed from when the ball inside the mesh of our lacrosse stick was in motion, to when it landed on the field. The velocity we calculated was approximately
-Torque:
Torque is equal to work in a circular motion.
